Trip to Coron Palawan

Coron has a natural wonders that make your question reality. Waves crashing onto a sugar-white beach and a gentle breeze with swaying palms. Swim through underwater mountains, visit hidden lagoons, snorkel over reefs, lounge on baby powder sand beaches. How to get to Coron
The quickest way and the main gateway to get on the island is to fly to Busuanga Airport more formally known as Francisco B. Reyes Airport. There are multiple airline to choose from according to your own preference and budget of course, Sky Jet offers the lowest year-round fares. Cebu Pacific does more promos for Coron, Philippine Airlines of course has good rates too. And Cebgo is another budget friendly airline of choice. Fare from Busuanga Airport to Coron Town is 150 pesos. It is less than an hour away from the town proper of Coron.
Another option is to ride a ship under 2Go company which travels from Manila to Coron, Puerto Princesa to Coron and El Nido to Coron
Where to stay in Coron
Hotels and resorts in Coron span the whole spectrum of budgets - from the super budget backpacker to the luxury traveler. But if you're traveling on a budget, you need to temper your expectations. Budget to mid-range accomodations in Coron aren't beachfront, they are located in Coron town. But if you absolutely must wake up to the sound of the waves and step out and feel the sand on your toes first thing in the morning, Coron has plenty of luxurious beachfront resorts as well. There are so many lodging options in Coron but you may still want to strongly consider booking in advance specially during summer (March - May) where the flocks to tourists are high. in our case we just walk around the town proper and saw lots of accommodation for backpackers offering 500 pesos per nigh good for two persons. This are non-aircon (electric fan only).
How to get Around Coron:
If travelling just within Coron town proper, you can simply take a tricycle. Fare is 10 pesos per person. Town tour may be done by yourself because all these are accessible by tricycle and even walking (except Maquinit)
Mount Tapyas does not require entrance fee. It's best enjoyed at sunrise and sunset.
Maquinit Hot springs can be reached by tricycle. Fare is 300 round trip and the tricycle driver will wait for you for one hour. Entrance fee is P150 per person. Best enjoyed after your island hopping.
If you join a Group Tour, you'll be paying per person and will be sharing the trip with other tourist. These tours are offered by various operators through the town. Sweet Escapades Travel and Tours for example offers different types of packages depending on your preference This is great for those travelling alone or with a small group.
Pros: You don't need to worry about anything else. You just pay one time, show up, and the agency will do everything for you. You also get to meet other travelers.
Cons: You have almost no control of the itinerary and how much time you will be spending at each stop.
If you charter a private boat, rates depends on the boat size and the number of passengers who will be sharing on the cost of the boat rental.
Pros: Although there is a suggested itinerary, you have total control of your time and schedule. If you want to stay longer somewhere, you can. If you want to skip a stop, you can too. And as I said, if your a big group, it will turn out much cheaper than joining a group tour.
Cons. The published rates cover not only the boat fee. NOT included are the tour guide fee(P500) and the entrance fees. Food is NOT included either, so you will need to bring your own provisions. Fortunately, the public market is near the port and the boatmen can prepare and cook your meals at no extra cost, so you can simply shop for ingredients before your trip.
IMPORTANT:
Wear rush guard and aqua shoes or full-sole fins when swimming to avoid getting stung by sea urchin, jellyfish or stone fish.
Do not touch or step the corals when snorkeling.
Bring mosquito repellent and personal medicines.
Bring enough amount of cash (Philippine Peso). Almost everything is on cash basis but some resorts and establishment accepts major credit cards and have money changing services.
